Are you a lawyer or other professional who has to keep track of how you spend each 6 mintues of the day? Do you waste time trying to remember all the different work you performed for different clients at the end of the day or week when you record…..
Rated 1/5 based on 3 customer reviews.
The kind of app I would write - not necessarily a good thing
Lee Rimar write:
The good: Extremely simple to use, provides the very basic need of recording time spent on specific projects with a minimum of hassle,
The bad: As another reviewer pointed out, absolutely no instructions and it isn't intuitive. You have to learn it by playing with it.
Lots of tricks and potential gotchas. For example, daily and weekly summaries contain different data, and both are useful in their own way -- so "good practice" would be to mail both summaries to yourself at the end of each work day. Also, there's no manual reset -- it clears and resets daily and weekly data on its own internal schedule. So the "good practice" of mailing yourself summaries daily is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY or you'll lose your data.
+5 stars for doing what exactly what I need and being very cheap
-1 for no instructions and non-intuitive design
-1 for the potential to lose data until you get into the habit of using it properly.
Will be happy to upgrade this review if future releases improve on those points.
I want to add the hours not wait for the absurd clock.
I worked 4 hours today. I can't keep the application open because I need my phone for my work. Why can't I just put the hours (4) that I've worked so at the end of the month I can bill them. I'm not going to put my phone on hold! I know I worked 4 hours. I just need to keep track of them for monthly billing. If not, this application is no use for me.
Plus, I cant erase time recorded or restart it. No instructions. I dont care about seconds. I need to put in hours and correct them if I need to.
A waste of money. This is what most people need: clients, activities, hours per activity, total hours per client, period of billable time, correct-change-restart button, and of course, fields to fill in billable hours. Could you please make the changes?
EDIT: An app written, then forgotten.
Harlan Sheppard write:
First Impression: Does a good job of what it says it will do, but lacks instructions of any kind (For example, no clues on how to delete clients and activities, but it's a swipe gesture) Exports time unfortunately in a raw format of start-end as opposed to the decimal format I bought the program for. I can get past that though. Clock functions even if application is closed (since it's simply noting the gap between start and stop times in a decimal fashion, as opposed to acting as a decimal stopwatch).
Update: Spent some time using it. A bit unwieldy, but came to an incredible inconvenience when last week's customer data became unavailable overnight. Hence, I lost quite a bit of customer data without any warning. Epic failure. One star.
Summary: I miss my customer data. Can't bill customers if I can't remember when I was there, now can I?
